Continuing Your Blackboard Course Beyond the Term

A Blackboard CRN course is designed to be used for one term. At the end of that term we automatically make all the courses unavailable so that the students do not have access to old course.

But what if you'd like your students to continue to have access to the course? Maybe your course has some good discussions that the students would like to continue; perhaps your course has some material that the students still want access to.

Simply make the course available again during the start of the following term. The system only sets the term courses to unavailable once - shortly before the next term begins. After this you may set the availability yourself.

However - do be aware that students may not want to continue to carry the course in their course list. If a course has be re-availabled for the students after the term is over, it is only courteous to make the student unavailable to the course if they request it. Please honor these requests promptly.

Note that courses that are not associated with a CRN are also not tied to the term schedule. These courses will not be automatically set unavailable by the system.
