Removing Courses

There are three ways to remove a course:

  1. Temporary removal (hiding) of a course on your course list
  2. Permanent removal of yourself from a course
  3. Permanent removal of unused course

Temporary Removal of Course from Courses list

If you just have too many courses listed in your Course tab in Blackboard, you can edit this view whenever you want to.

Instructions

go to the Courses tab on Blackboard and select the gear next to the Course List title. That screen will give you the capability of deciding which courses you want to see in the Course List tab. You can also choose whether to display the Course ID as well as the Course Name.

Permanent Removal of yourself from a course

Remove a Course on bbrequest.wwu.edu

This option is only if you are completely done with a course and never want to see it again. We actually make you unavailable to the course so you will not be able to see it although the course itself remains on the system. If there are other instructors associated with the course they will still have access.

Instructions

Go to the same tool that you use to request courses and select the Remove a Course option – that’s at http://bbrequest.wwu.edu

Permanent Removal of Unused Course

Sometimes a course is created incorrectly and will never be used. You could use either of the two methods above or you can have us completely remove the course from the system.

Instructions

Please email Blackboard Help and give them the B-number of the course to remove, indicating that this course was created in error and is not being used.
