We schedule short outage periods each week and each term to accomodate patches and upgrades to the servers. This includes Microsoft server updates, hardware maintenance and other routine service required in the machine room. Although most of these service periods do not result in a loss of services, there are times when the upgrades to be applied will require some downtime. We cannot anticipate these ahead of time, so we ask that you plan crucial work around these possible outages.
Tuesday: 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM.
The Wednesday after each exam week; 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Special Upgrades may be scheduled during Winter Break, Spring Break, or Summer Break. These will be announced at least one week in advance to instructors by email, and an announcement of the anticipated downtime will be also be posted one week in advance on MyWestern.
