Audio Recording from Lecture Halls

WWU's largest lecture halls are equipped with digital recording devices in the voice reinforcement systems. The recorders provide a streaming audio signal across the campus network in the MP3 format.

ATUS provides coordination for recording class lectures and then preparing the MP3 files for posting on Blackboard or other web locations at your request. Posting of audio files can also be coordinated with Power Point presentations, photographs or video materials.

Students are able to listen to MP3 files from any computer with audio output and network access. The files can also be downloaded to MP3 players and iPods. Review of lecture materials can thus be accessed by class members as often as they wish.

Go to our online tool to request a recording of your class. Please note that you will need to provide the following:

  • your universal username (NOT W#)
  • the CRN of the course as well as times and days of your classes
  • the Blackboard course that you are using for distribution of the audio link. If you have not yet created your Blackboard course please go to Request your Blackboard Course a few hours before proceeding to request your recording.
