Requesting Technology Levels for Classes
The Registrar's Classroom Scheduling Office keeps the database for scheduling classrooms, and ATUS assists in defining the multimedia category for each. The list below will help you to define which Level of classroom you want for your class or event.
When academic departments are creating class schedules for the upcoming year, be sure to indicate which Level of Classroom is needed to support each specific course curriculum. In Banner the codes include PLV1, PLV2, PLV3, PLV4 and PCBS.
Level 1 Classroom (PLV1) - The Basics provides a campus network connection, campus cable, screen, and overhead projector.
Level 2 Classroom (PLV2) provides the basics plus TV with VCR/DVD player.
Level 3 Classroom (PLV3) provides the basics plus computer, VCR/DVD player, and either a projector or large wall monitor display (no document camera, no integrated media control system). Beginning fall 2009, a Level 3 room may include a Smartboard.
Level 4 Classroom (PLV4) provides the basics plus computer, VCR, DVD player, document camera, and integrated media control system.
Collaborative Classroom (PCBS) provides moveable tables and chairs with Level 4 technology.
Classroom Response System (PCRS) is an additional code needed in order to schedule a room with the Classroom Response System installed.
