Slide Recorder File Prep Instructions from Digital Files
Materials Needed:
Film – Kodak Elite Chrome 100
Media – Macintosh-compatible Zip or CD, or USB storage device. The computer required to use this machine is an old Mac G3 running OS 8.x and will not read media formatted for PC only.
Image area for slide: Your file dimensions should be 11.25"w x 7.5"h in a horizontal (or landscape) format. Your image or subject matter should not come within more than 1/4 inch of the edge, so your image or subject matter should be no more than 10.75" wide by 7" high, centered.
Canvas area around image should be black for best slide viewing experience.
Image format: Must be saved as a tif (or tiff) file at no more than 300 dpi, 8 bit (NOT 16 bit). If you donŐt have Photoshop, you may import them into Powerpoint and save your images as tifs. Set them up with black backgrounds as explained above. Do not resize your images in Powerpoint. Results are unpredictable.
Quantities: The film comes in 24 or 36 exposures. If you have more film than images, you may wish to specify duplicates of some or all the images to fill the roll. Please specify which images you would like duplicates of, and how many, on a separate sheet of paper. If no quantities are specified, you will receive one exposure of each image.
Turn-around: Expect a two day turn-around to expose your images, longer if your images are not formatted as described above. You can take the exposed film to a photo processing lab.
