Accessing WWU Exchange Email with Microsoft Entourage 11.2
Microsoft Entourage is the preferred Exchange client for the Mac OS X. It is the Mac OS X equivalent of Outlook.
The following will explain how to connect to your username@wwu.edu or First.Last@wwu.edu email account here at WWU.
Instructions
- Open Entourage. In a default installation, Entourage will be found in the Microsoft Office folder inside your Applications folder.
- Click on Entourage in the menu bar, and select Account Settings.
- Click on the arrow next to the New button, and select Exchange.
- Click the “Configure account manually” button on the Account Setup Assistant window.
- Fill out the Account Settings tab as displayed in the screenshot. Be sure to include your own information where appropriate. You may choose not to enter your password if you would prefer to be prompted for it when checking your email.

- Click on the Advanced tab. Fill it the following information:
- Public Folders Server: web.cms.wwu.edu
- Check “This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL).”
- LDAP Server: ldap.ad.wwu.edu
- Check “This server requires me to log on” and “This LDAP server requires a secure connection (SSL).”
- Leave the "Search base:" field blank.
- Click on the Security tab, uncheck all checkboxes, and Click on the OK button when you are finished.
You should now be able to use Entourage to access your Outlook email, calendars, and other resources. If you find that it is not working, double check all your settings. If you find that everything is correct and Entourage will still not function correctly, contact the Help Desk.

A: Unfortunately, no. Entourage has its own file format, and cannot make use of PSTs.
Q: I’ve looked in the Entourage preferences, but couldn’t find Junk E-Mail anywhere. How do I change my Junk E-Mail settings?
A: The Junk E-Mail preferences can be access through Tools on the menu bar.
Q: I need to access mailboxes other than my own. How can I add mailboxes in Entourage?
A: You can add additional accounts in Entourage through the Account Settings:
- Select the ‘Entourage’ menu on your menu bar, and then choose ‘Account Settings.’
- Double click on the Exchange account that you have setup, and then select the ‘Delegate’ tab on the new window that appears.
- You may then select the ‘Add’ button underneath the ‘Users I am a delegate for’ section. Type in the name of the mailbox you wish to open, click find, and then select the correct account that appears in the results.
- Click OK, then Click OK on the ‘Edit Account’ window, and then close the Accounts window. The mailbox should now appear in your folder list.
