Microsoft Campus Agreement

Effective July 2009, a centrally-funded Microsoft Campus Agreement enhances Western's already high quality teaching and learning environment by allowing installation of the latest Microsoft Office and Microsoft operating system software. The Microsoft campus Agreement also includes a collection of server-based client access licenses providing economical and efficient access to a variety of server-based software tools. The Campus Agreement is renewed annually each June.


What is Included for University-Owned Computers?

What is Included for Computers Owned by Faculty or Staff?

Microsoft Office Home Use Program

The Microsoft Campus Agreement includes a new Home Use Program (HUP) for MS Office 2010 for Windows and Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. Each Western faculty or staff member can download one copy of Office 2010 or Office 2008 for a $9.95 fee, paid online by credit card. For an additional $12, an installation disk can also be purchased. This software can be used by anyone using the computer for any purpose. It is contingent upon employment status, however, so the software must be uninstalled if the licensee leaves Western.

WWU students and student employees are not eligible for the Microsoft Home Use Program.

Microsoft Work-at-Home Software

The Microsoft Campus Agreement includes a limited work-at-home benefit for discounted purchase of one Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus license and one Microsoft Windows 7 upgrade license for installation on a computer owned by a WWU employee and used solely by the employee exclusively for work-related purposes. Microsoft Server Software
