Yes. All current WWU students can download and own one copy of the full Microsoft Office Suite and one Windows upgrade license for their use. The program was funded by Information Technology for the 2012-2013 academic year and approved by student vote for ongoing funding by Student Technology Fees for five years, ending in June 2018.
All current students with WWU email addresses (@students.wwu.edu) are eligible.
Students can go to the online store at http://wwu.onthehub.com for a free download of these products. Click the Sign In link, then Register using your WWU email address (@students.wwu.edu) to verify that you are a current WWU student.
The software is provided for no charge as an electronic download. You can purchase an installation DVD for $13.95 at the online store.
Yes. You can choose the latest version of Microsoft Office for either Windows or Macintosh.
No. Current students have access to the entire Microsoft Office Professional suite of programs you have become accustomed to using, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
Yes. You can use the free Windows 8 or Windows 7 software to upgrade from Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 Home Premium. Use Windows 8 to upgrade from any version of Windows 7.
Macintosh users can install Windows on Intel-based Macs.
Note: Before upgrading your operating systems, be sure to backup your files and locate installation media for your applications in case re-installation is needed.
The product key to activate the software must be used within 30 days. Please record the product key for future reference. Once you download the software, it’s yours to keep as a current WWU student or graduate.
The software product key is valid for two installations.

You will receive licensing to keep both the current Windows operating system and current Microsoft Office Suite if the progam is still in effect.
Since this special offer is only for current Western students and students who graduate from Western, students who leave the university without graduating need to remove Microsoft software they receive from this program.
