Connecting to CampusWeb

Access is the same whether on campus or off campus with VPN.
Windows 7
- Right-click on My Computer icon and select Map Network Drive.
- Select Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures

- Select Next on the Welcome to the Add Network Location Wizard screen
- Select Choose Custom Network Location and then Next
- Type \\msfs-campusweb\www.wwu.edu as the Internet or network Address and select Next
- (from VPN, off-campus you may need to type
\\msfs-campusweb.univ.dir.wwu.edu\www.wwu.edu and then authenticate with wwu\username )
- Type CampusWeb as the name of the location and select Next
- Select Finish
Windows XP, Vista
- Right-click on My Computer icon and select Map Network Drive.
- Select Sign up for online storage or connect to a network server.
- Click Next on the first window of the Add Network Place Wizard.
- Click on Choose another network location and click Next.
In the Internet or network address: field type:
\\msfs-campusweb\www.wwu.edu
(from VPN, off-campus you may need to type
\\msfs-campusweb.univ.dir.wwu.edu\www.wwu.edu and then authenticate with wwu/username )
- A security alert might pop-up stating that the security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust. This is normal; click Yes in response to Do you want to proceed?
- Enter your Universal username and password.
- enter your login as wwu\username
- Make sure that your username is in all lowercase.
- The next dialog allows you to create a custom name for your connection. Type CampusWeb
- Click Next to continue.
- Click Finish to complete the configuration of your network drive.
Your network drives will now be accessible under My Network Places.
Mac OSX
Mac OS 10.5 has a bug which prevents it from connecting to campus servers. Please perform the inexpensive upgrade to OS 10.6 or use this connection string in the instructions below: smb://msfs-campusweb.univ.dir.wwu.edu:139/www.wwu.edu
- In Finder, select Go > Connect to Server.
- Type in the server address smb://msfs-campusweb/www.wwu.edu and click the connect button.
You may need to type smb://msfs-campusweb.univ.dir.wwu.edu/www.wwu.edu and then authenticate with wwu/username )
- Enter your universal username and password. Please enter "wwu" for Domain:

*Note that you might need to connect twice for this to work. We are currently trying to resolve this issue.
