Smartboards for Collaborative Instruction

A Smartboard (also known as an Interactive Whiteboard) is a touch-sensitive display useful for instructional presentations and collaborative assignments. Instructors and students have the ability to interact with the display using a compatible pen or one's finger in order to control computer applications, write notes, and draw diagrams. Smartboards can be used for both impromptu and prepared lectures, collaborative classroom work, and study sessions, because they simultaneously support a number of learning styles and activities. The tool can also be used to capture notes or record presentations for archival purposes.
