A.D.A.M. Interactive Anatomy Now Online

Animated Dissection of Anatomy for Medicine (A.D.A.M.) has been used at WWU as an alternative to preserved whole-animal dissections by students in biology and allied health majors since 1994. At that time, students tapped into an extensive library of colorful anatomical drawings, x-rays, tissue photomicrographs, and special topics in healthcare on Macintosh computers that took up much-needed bench space in the teaching lab...

Reduced Student Printing Quotas Prefix Reduced Printing

Beginning this quarter students were allocated a reduced printing quota of $1.25 (25 black and white prints) per quarter. As of October 24, student printing had decreased about 60% over the same period last year. So far this fall, 10,885 students printed 315,951 pages, compared with 12,188 students printing 791,709 pages by the same date last fall. About 7,500 of the 10,855 students who printed during this period, had not yet exceeded their quota...

WiFi Project for University Residences

In December of 2010 University Residences initiated a request to Facilities Management for the implementation of wireless computing networks in all residence halls. Copyright Updates

The Georgia State copyright case is still pending. The case was filed in 2008 by publishers against the officials of Georgia State University alleging copyright infringement in the University‘s electronic reserve system. Both sides have completed testimony and final briefs were filed in August. A deposition was filed Sept. 21, 2011 for a Georgia State political science faculty member. A decision by the presiding judge is awaited by both sides in the case, as well as the acadmic community...

Budget Cuts Result in the Elimination of Graphic Design Services

As a result of permanent budget reductions, ATUS has eliminated the graphic designer position. Services supporting faculty in the design of graphics for academic posters, publications and instructional materials are no longer available from ATUS. The office of University Communications, however, has design services and can provide assistance to faculty. University Communications can be contacted at 360-650-3350.
