Title: Center for Pacific Northwest Studies Miscellaneous Photographs Collection
 
Description: This collection is comprised of miscellaneous photographs taken throughout Bellingham and Whatcom County, Washington. The images document a variety of topics such as buildings and structures, the C.S. Kale Canning Company in Everson, the Alspo Fish Trap Camp on Lummi Island, the Lake Riley Mill, and early-Whatcom County residents including Leonard Ellis and Lee L. Wickersham.

Title: Center for Pacific Northwest Studies Miscellaneous Scrapbooks collection
 
Description: This collection includes assorted scrapbooks relating to the Pacific Northwest, Whatcom county, Bellingham, Lynden as well as information relating to local families and individuals. The collection also consists of twelve photo scrapbooks. Four of the scrapbooks contain photographs of fishing and canning industries in Alaska and the Puget Sound region. Three books contain scenes of WWI & WWII boats and shipbuilding. The remaining books contain images of home & family life.

Title: Center for Pacific Northwest Studies slides
 
Description: The collection consists of several sets of slides covering the following events sponsored by the Center for Pacific Northwest Studies (CPNWS): the People of the Cedar exhibit; the Lieutenant Warre exhibit; Paul Kane drawings; Fort Vancouver in 1846; Coast Artillery including images of Ft. Casey on Whidbey Island and Ft. Warden at Port Townsend; and the move of the Bellingham Bay Improvement Company records from downtown Bellingham to CPNWS. Although the slides were taken at events in the 1970s and 1980s, some of the images depict documents that date from much earlier.

Title: Central American Refugee Assistance records
 
Description: The Central American Refugee Assistance (CARA) records document the activities and concerns of the network in Whatcom County, Washington. CARA offered assistance to political refugees from Central American countries seeking entry into Canada. The collection includes promotional and organizational materials for a 1989 speaking tour by Serena Cosgrove of Witness for Peace. Also included are FBI reports on Western Washington State College Campus Christian Ministry from 1967 to 1970 concerning support for draft evasion.

Title: Clark (Jane) photographs
 
Description: These photographs were collected by Jane Clark of the Western Washington University Bureau for Faculty Research. The photographs depict commercial fishing (including boats and fish traps), and leisure boating activities throughout the Salish Sea. There are also images of the Inner Victoria Harbor, the British Columbia Parliament Buildings, the Victoria Empress Hotel, and offshore of Luna Park in West Seattle.

Title: Collection of Aerial Photographs
 
Description: Collection containing approximately 32,000 aerial photographs, and indices to aerial flights dated approximately 1930-1970. The bulk of flights document areas in Western Washington including Whatcom County, Mt. Baker and surrounding areas, although the collection includes representative sets from areas across the United States. CPNWS staff are working presently to catalog the images and indices. The collection is open to the public, although we recommend that researchers contact CPNWS in advance to discuss their inquiries and request images. This collection was formerly housed at Huxley Map Library and was transferred to CPNWS in Summer 2011.
