Kaye Faulkner papers include correspondence, articles, pamphlets, books, research materials, research bulletins, "Technate of America" maps and related publications collected by a former teacher of economics at Western Washington University. Technocracy was a political/economic movement which arose in the 1930s, whose proponents believed that the American government and economy should be managed according to principles derived from science and engineering. The bulk of the materials are from the national office. Also included in the collection are records dealing with Faulkner's involvement with the local Western Washington State College now Western Washington University American Federation of Teachers union and his interest in general education labor issues. |
