| Description: The collection documents Olympic medallist Franz X. Gabl’s career and interests as a professional skier and ski instructor in Europe, Canada and the Pacific Northwest. The collection contains photographs and newspaper clippings reflecting Gabl’s achievements and involvement in winter sports from the 1940s through the 1980s, including the annual Ski to Sea race from Mt. Baker to Bellingham Bay in Washington State. The collection also contains photographs documenting Gabl’s experiences in the German army during World War II, where he served on the Russian Front from 1941-45. |

| Description: The George and Lois Garlick family papers span the period 1821-2006, with the bulk of the materials dated 1930-1999. The majority of the collection consists of material created and collected by George and Lois Garlick relating largely to their environmental work in Whatcom County, especially shoreline management, nature preservation, and bird rehabilitation. The collection also contains materials generated by the Lopas, Garlick, Broders, and Buckman families, and by local historian Gloria Trevino Newman. Much of the collection is comprised of photographs of the Gates family and friends, images taken by Mabel Gates' brother, photographer Bert W. Huntoon, and Woodstock Farm, the Gates’ family home. |

| Description: This artificial collection comprises materials donated from the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender community in Bellingham and Whatcom County, Washington, during the CPNWS Gay and Lesbian Archives Project in 2001-2002. The collection contains posters, fliers, journals and other ephemera documenting GLBT events and activities in the local community, and includes brief histories of some local GLBT agencies and community resources. Audio materials comprise recordings of a lesbian radio show produced by WWU's radio station KUGS during the early 1980s, and oral history interviews conducted as part of the Gay and Lesbian Archives Project. |

| Description: The Georgia-Pacific Corporation (GP), Bellingham Division records date from 1892 to 2001, and consist of administrative records, publications, photographic materials, audio-visual recordings, charts and maps. The Atlanta-based Georgia-Pacific Corporation (GP) acquired a mill site on Bellingham's waterfront in 1963. Operations included pulping and tissue-making, a chemical plant, and a research lab. The mill was a major employer in Bellingham, and produced hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue during its peak years. |
