Jeffcott papers were assembled by one of the best known and most published local historians of the Bellingham area, consists primarily of photographs, maps, writings, correspondence, and collected materials relating to Whatcom County history. The extensive photograph collection includes over 2000 images of people, places and special events in Whatcom County, and documentation of other Washington counties and the neighboring Province of British Columbia. Many of the photographs were used by Mr. Jeffcott in his three published works: NOOKSACK TALES AND TRAILS, "BLANKET" BILL JARMAN, and CHECHACO AND SOURDOUGH. | | Title: Jones, Rogan | | | | Description: The Rogan Jones collection consists of business, legal, financial, and personal records of Lafayette Rogan Jones (1895-1972). Jones was a pioneer in radio and television broadcasting. During the forty-five years that he was active in the field, his contributions were widely recognized. He owned and operated four radio stations in Washington: KXKO in Aberdeen; KGMI in Bellingham; KPQ in Wenatchee; and KPCB in Seattle. He owned one television station in Bellingham: KVOS; and the International Good Music Corporation. The bulk of the papers cover the years 1929 through 1959 and relate to his business affairs. However, a small group of personal letters dating from 1919 to 1959 is also included. Correspondence from 1960 to 1972 was removed by Rogan Jones before his death. His papers include business and legal documents, telegrams and bulletins, purchase agreements, minutes of stockholders meetings, financial statements, incorporation papers and minutes of the board meetings of the Westcoast Broadcasting. Other papers and two scrapbooks and newspaper clippings for the years 1933 to 1936 are also included. The collection contains a group of radio and oral history interviews that Jones and others recorded on 32 seven-inch and 2 five-inch open-reel audio tapes and three cassette tapes.
