Personal papers also comprise part of the collection including correspondence with well-known artists and architects Isamu Noguchi, Fred Bassetti, George Bartholick, Victor Steinbrueck, Mary Randlett, Morris Graves, and Tom Robbins. |

| Description: This is a collection of diaries, research material, and financial records generated by Lynden resident Edmund Nelson. In his diaries Nelson chronicles his stay in Seattle's Riverton Hospital for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis. Research material relating to Lynden history was compiled by Nelson in the course of writing the books "A History of Lynden." Financial records include personal income tax returns and check registers, as well as a ledger book from Nelson's tax and accounting business. |

| Title: Nesset Farm Environmental Stewardship Project Records |

| Description: The collection contains photographs, video and audio tapes of interviews with Tom Nesset and others who lived on and near Nesset Farm on the South Fork of the Nooksack River. The project divided a group of Huxley College of Environmental Studies students into five groups which provided detailed studies of Nesset farm in the following categories: a site plan for creation of a county park; a historical study of the way in which the Nesset family lived and worked on the land; a ecological study of the site; a recreation use study of the site; and an interpretive and educational plan for the park. All five reports are included in the collection. |

| Description: The Northwest Ethnohistory collection includes oral histories, manuscripts, correspondence, maps, bibliographies, publications and photographs relating to various Native American tribes in the Pacific Northwest. Native American tribes documented in the collection include Chehalis, Shoalwater, Chinook, Clallam, Clatsop, Cowlitz, Duwamish, Haida, Klamath, Klickitat, Kwakiutl, Lummi, Makah, Muckleshoot, Nisqually, Nooksack, Puyallup, Quileute, Quinault, Salish, Semiahmoo, Skagit, Snohomish, Squaxin, Steilacoom, Suiattle-Sauk, Swinomish, and Suquamish.
The records document the social life and customs of the various tribes, including their languages, material culture, legends, and rites and ceremonies. The collection also provides some insight into indigenous fishing, hunting, and whaling practices. Much of the collection contains information about politics and government relations, especially as they relate to the social conditions and legal status of tribes. Additionally, the records relate to laws regarding tribal land tenures and treaties.
