From the 1960's through the 1980's, Fairhaven Haggens was Hayden's Thriftway supermarket; probably this photo was taken there (1401 12th St.) There was also a Ferndale Thriftway at that time.

The Golden Rule Bazaar, the Pioneer Drug Store, the Keystone Hotel, Nash's Fine Groceries and Provisions, a hardware store are all visible. Streets in Sehome in 1890 were Front, Main, Washington and Jackson; today they are Railroad, State, Forest and Garden.

Description: Caption on reverse in pencil: "Feltre in Columbia River - 1937 - Later known as Clevedon P.A.F." The steamship Feltre was an Italian liner that was rammed and sank in the Columbia River; it was later bought by Pacific American Fisheries for $50,000 and renamed Clevedon. It was 450 feet long, 55 feet wide. It could carry more than 400 cannery workers and more than 235,000 cases of canned salmon. It was leased to the U.S. military in 1941 and burned and sank in the Gulf of Alaska in 1942.
