The steamship Feltre was an Italian liner that was rammed and sank in the Columbia River; it was later bought by Pacific American Fisheries for $50,000 and renamed Clevedon. It was 450 feet long, 55 feet wide. It could carry more than 400 cannery workers and more than 235,000 cases of canned salmon. It was leased to the U.S. military in 1941 and burned and sank in the Gulf of Alaska in 1942. | |||
