| Description: Back caption written in : "Sehome 1889. Railroad Avenue in the foreground. Elk Street (State) next. Grand Central Hotel (Baker Hotel) - center, corner of Holly & Forest streets. (City Bus Lines Building on this site now.) Jenkins Apartment House under construction on forest, left of Holly Street." Corrections to the caption: The hotel is the Baker Hotel. It burned down near the turn of the century. The lot stood vacant until the early 1920s when an auto dealer constructed a show room there. The auto dealership was followed by at least two storage companies and then for the next several years by Swan storage. Today, 2002, the site is occupied by the Whatcom County Co-op. | |||
