| Description: The old Eldridge house built a decade before the Roth-Roeder home on Elm. It stood on the right bank of the mouth of Squalicum Creek. It was built in 1890 and burned when a north wind excited a forest fire in August 1894. While efforts were being made to save the barn on the north side of what is now Marine Drive a spark lit on the house itself. Only a little furniture was saved. Captain Edward Eldridge and Mrs. Eldridge on the porch; Tessie Gilligan on the horse, and two other grandchildren on the back porch. | |||
