Description: Caption on sign: "LARSON LUMBER COMPANY, BELLINGHAM, WASH. This section was cut from a fir tree 12 feet in diameter at the ground, 275 feet high, age approximately 700 years, lumber contents:105,000 feet. This would build complete ten five-room cottages. The labor paid for logging and milling the tree was $850 and when the lumber is put into the completed house the tree will represent an expenditure of $2500 in wages. 1911. 'HOW WE GROW' 1898. DO NOT FEFACE. POST NO BILLS." Set beside the railroad tracks at the entrance of the Larson Mill Site.
