In the foreground, a scow is pulled up on the shore next to an over-water platform that will be the base for the new PAF (Pacific American Fishery's) salmon cannery. To the east of this structure is a dock to which three ships are moored, a double-deck sternwheeler, a sailpowered salmon tender, and a steam schooner. On this dock is are three railroad cars: two freight and one open passenger cars. On the far right is the GN Railroad track that crosses the mouth of Padden Creek. To the east of Padden Creek is the Puget Sound Mills & Timber Company lumber mill. Sehome Hill has only a few trees. Among the buildings identifiable on the hill are: Fourteenth Street School and Wardner's Castle. | |||

| Description: A woman and a man in front of building Back caption: "Anna Graveline. Will McConnell." In 1916, Wm H. McConnell was a clerk at the Hotel Bellingham and Mrs. Anna C. Graveline managed the hotel. A man is standing at the front door of the Bellingham Café and, directly adjacent, a woman is standing in the doorway of the Bellingham Hotel. In 1890, these establishments were in a building at the northwest corner of 13th (Holly) and Wharf ("B") Streets. Managed by J.H. Stenger from 1890 through 1908. In 1909, Mrs. May Skaar Roscoe was proprietor and Stenger had become occupied with real estate. In 1912, it was managed by F. C. Fox and in 1913 Stenger resumed management until 1916 when, beginning with Anna Graveline & Will McConnell the hotel and café had a different proprietor nearly every year until 1926 when the business moved to its present location on Commercial Street. | |||
