| Description: The flag pole in Fairhaven Park on June 14 1907 was a limbed, still living, red cedar tree that stood 177 feet high and flew a flag that was 20 by 36 feet. At the time it was the tallest natural flag pole in the United States The tree was removed in 1962 because an earlier landscaping project disturbed the roots and killed the tree which was thentoppled by 69 mile-an-hour-winds that occurred in the 1962 Columbus Day Storm. | |||
