This Social Media + Online Presence workshop will inform students of the purpose and benefits of using LinkedIn as a professional networking tool. Students will gain hands on help with the creation and development of their LinkedIn account. They will learn how to use advanced features offered by LinkedIn as well as an understanding of LinkedIn etiquette and communication norms amongst users. A guest speaker will explain the role of Linkedin in her career, and offer advice to students with the creation of their LinkedIn accounts.
In the spirit of maximizing networking opportunities, the workshop will be followed by a brief reception for all participants |

This workshop will allow students to navigate and understand the basic and advanced features offered by LinkedIn. Students will understand how to approach other users on LinkedIn. Students will understand how LinkedIn can enhance their job search through interaction with an extensive professional network. Ultimately, students will understand the importance of maintaining a professional online presence and the benefits obtained from creating professional networks while in school. |

For this workshop you will need: 1. An activated LinkedIn account* 2. Current resume *Participants are strongly encouraged to open a LinkedIn account prior to the workshop; this will help maximize learning opportunities during the class.
