Course Name: Banner: Person - Entity Search Standards
Provided By: Human Resources Learning and Development
Description: The primary purpose of this class is to investigate methods to ensure no duplicate records for the same person or entity are created in Banner. This class introduces the participant to the different search forms and processes available in Banner. Challenges to effective searches are explored. This class is a mandatory training class for anyone with Banner maintenance permissions.

  • Define Data Custodianship Policy
  • Identify Module Forms

  • Define Search Form Process Flows
  • Define “A Thorough Search”
  • Define the Search Process Flow
  • Design and Use Queries
  • Use Wildcards
  • Identify Search Challenges
  • Use ID and Name Extended Search
  • Define Duplicate ID Resolution
  • Define Duplicate ID Process Flow
Prerequisites:
  • Basic Banner navigation knowledge. 
  • Print the class manual (Banner Search Standards) and bring it with you to class.  You can access/download the manual (Banner Search Standards) from the downloadable file link below (after you are registered) or access the manual from the W drive, W:/banner/training or  //Wuf-app1/APP1/banner/training
