The play is a concept musical, revolving around the theme of present-day American workers and how they perceive themselves within the context of their professions. “Though the characters’ names are fictional, the words are those of real people struggling to maintain their identity through their jobs. This makes the stories within ‘Working’ as honest and as personal as if the audience were interviewed about their professions during each performance,” said Flygare. “It is the story of the American worker. It is the story of each of us.” A complete schedule of “Working” show times is available at the WWU Theatre Arts Web site: http://www.wwu.edu/depts/theatre. The Theatre Arts Department offers free shuttle service to on-campus performances. For more information, call (360) 650-3879. |
