“The Foreigner,” a comedy by Larry Shue, will run from July 9 to Aug. 16 at WWU’s Old Main Theatre.

“Anne of Green Gables,” based on Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic novel, will run from July 14 to Aug. 17 at outdoor venues in Bellingham. Call the WWU Box Office or visit the http://www.wwu.edu/depts/theatre to find out venue locations.

Thirty five years ago, Summer Stock founders — program director Bill Gregory and WWU faculty member Dennis Catrell — set out to build a bridge between the academic and professional theatre for young artists, technicians, administrators and drama teachers. Their vision was to immerse each company member in a summer of intense theatre production for the local community.

Summer Stock alumni have gone on to train at some of the most advanced theatre programs in the country, work at major American theatres, play leadership roles in alternative theatre, and teach in settings around the world.
