This is the view that met Manuel Quimper's eyes (1792) while anchored in Porto Quimper (Dungeness Bay), he being the first white man to observe its grand proportions. Vancouver saw it from the same station and called it Mt. Baker. This photograph was take from near Point Wilson at Port Townsend by Mr. P. M. Richardson and used by his permission."
